N2 - In a highly technological and interconnected society in real time, museums must coexist or even adapt to this new way of being in the world. The study’s aim is to demonstrate how museums can leverage virtual platforms to reach a broader audience and facilitate the dissemination of cultural heritage values, such as those represented by Peruvian cuisine. Three focus groups were conducted with university students with academic or work experience in tourism, hospitality and/or gastronomy. Museums can effectively use virtual platforms to reach a wider audience and promote cultural heritage, such as Peruvian gastronomy. A virtual museum focused on Peruvian cuisine offers a unique opportunity to highlight and contextualize aspects often overlooked in traditional museums due to space or other limitations. It serves as a platform to explore diverse discourses on gastronomy, culinary traditions, and Peruvian cuisine. This approach not only enhances the visibility of Peruvian gastronomy but also speeds up the dissemination of cultural heritage and attracts visitors who might not otherwise engage with a museum.
