Abstract

This paper presents a robotic system for stacking heterogeneous products, in particular the packages in food industries. By statistically investigating that, for the most part, packages contain the same shape, and the proposed system classifies them into small and large class products. The small and large packages are moved by a robotic arm, with six degrees of freedom, to the pallet areas inside the robotic cell. The proposed system enables efficient storage of the products through automation in the control, driving, sorting, and industrial stacking processes. In the analyzed study, a system was implemented consisting mainly of an industrial sanitary conveyor belt, robotic arm, palletizing module, base support of anti-slip separators, receiving pallets, and industrial compressor. Validation tests for each type of product, robotic arm movement tests, and system production tests were carried out using the KUKA Sim 3.1.2 program. These experimental tests show a highly reliable performance of the proposed automatic sorting and stacking system.
