Abstract

In recent years, technology has optimized various engineering sectors with innovative solutions, from equipment design to calculation methods. In the construction sector, various measuring devices such as optical levels, automatic odometers and laser meters have been developed. However, a relevant and little used parameter in low and medium scale construction is the monitoring of concrete maturity. The lack of measurement of this parameter in regions such as Peru, which has diverse climates and unpredictable climate changes, decreases productivity and increases construction costs. This work proposes a technological methodology for the design of a concrete maturity monitoring device, optimizing production and response times, where local alerts are added for a practical and massive warning. In addition, an Internet of Things (IoT) oriented collection proposal is presented to improve the safety of concrete maturity and resistivity monitoring. The proposed method demonstrates that it is possible to design a lower cost device than other commercial solutions, offering real-time monitoring, inclusion of new technologies, redundancy and the use of this information to monitor concrete parameters and detect structural anomalies in the long term.
