Cross-Cultural Adaptation of the “Corruption Normalization Scale” for Mexico

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contributionpeer-review

Abstract

This study aimed to undertake the cultural adaptation of the Corruption Normalization Scale that was originally created to measure everyday behaviors related to corruption among Peruvian university students. The quantitative approach of this study focused on achieving cultural adaptation to Mexico through content validity. Seven Mexican experts were invited to contextualize the new instrument according to the specific linguistic and cultural characteristics of the country. Although the experts made certain observations, the most important finding was that they stated that the implementation of this instrument would be very useful in Mexico. They thought that it was complete, clear, coherent, and relevant. They requested clarification about certain terms and indicated the differences in the way some concepts were used in their country, ultimately proving the flexibility of the instrument.
