Abstract

Digital voice assistants for the home represent a significant innovation within the realm of artificial intelligence. This research primarily aims to identify the determinants and barriers influencing the intention to use and purchase these devices. Data was collected through non-probabilistic sampling, yielding 376 valid responses from individuals familiar with these smart devices. The results were analysed using Smart PLS 4 software, revealing that both personal innovation and social influence positively impact the intention to use, while perceived privacy risk and technological anxiety exert a negative influence. This study makes a notable contribution to the literature on a relatively underexplored technological sector, offering further insights into the adoption processes of digital voice assistants for the home.
