Abstract

The Michel Foucault power analysis is present in different knowledge disciplines and the city isn’t exception. However, it’s of special interest insofar as the city is a device that facilitates the freedom or subject subjection, producing and subduing it. Advances in research that relate the city to power are increasing, which is why it becomes necessary to discourse review in order to demonstrate the been formed different communities. For this purpose, publications (book chapters and articles) in journals Scopus indexed are analyzed with the gephi program, identifying seven discursive communities. Namely, the city: conceived for power, as a power device, as a subject producer, as a surveillance device and as a policeman (from a genealogical method). In addition to two speeches in the construction associated process with smart cities and governance; demonstrating the presence, validity and need to continue with more investigations that analyze power and the city.
