Abstract
The problem identified in a company that provides stands for fairs and events consists of the deficient process of manufacturing wooden stands and derivatives, caused by the poor design process, and a lack of study of the product family. and components. The proposed solution consists of applying the DFMA to standardize the main components of a stand and thus be able to obtain a stand with a high degree of standardization. The results found were positive, it became possible to assemble a bookstore with main parts and a catalog with a standardization of 80% of the components of each stand to let the client only carry out 20% customization. In addition, manufacturing cycle time decreased by 54%, reprocessing decreased by 16.6%, and repainting decreased by 12.8%.
