N2 - The aim of this study was to analyze the relationship between resilience and goal orientation in competitive Peruvian swimmers. The sample consisted of 140 athletes (75 men and 65 women), aged between 11 and 25 years, from various academies across the country. The Resilience in Sports Context Scale and the Goal Orientation Questionnaire were used. The results showed a positive and highly significant correlation between resilience and task orientation, as well as a positive, albeit weak, correlation with ego orientation. Statistically significant and relevant differences in resilience were also found according to sex, with men scoring higher. Regarding goal orientation, no significant differences were observed between men and women, but differences were found according to competition category, with older swimmers obtaining higher scores. In conclusion, resilience is strongly associated with task orientation and weakly associated with ego orientation, highlighting the importance of fostering task-centered goals to enhance coping capacity and psychological adaptation in competitive swimmers. And according to sex, men tend to show a greater capacity for coping than women, while motivation towards the task and ego remains similar between both sexes, which highlights the need to promote mastery centered goals to strengthen the psychological adaptation of competitive swimmers.
