Abstract
– Several errors have been found in information and data of seismic records in academically published work. These inaccuracies involve use of vertical instead of horizontal signals, wrong peak velocities and peak accelerations. The mistakes were encountered in top cited publications regarding near-fault effects and the large base displacement problem in isolated structures. A reason for these errors is suggested.
