Abstract

This study addresses productivity challenges in Peruvian textile SMEs, focusing on limited machine availability, high failure rates, and lack of standardized processes. These issues lead to defective garments and high reprocessing rates, impacting productivity. A Lean Manufacturing model incorporating 5S, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and process standardization was implemented. Data on machine availability, failure rates, and reprocess percentages were collected and analyzed to measure the model's impact. The Lean Manufacturing model significantly improved productivity, achieving 0.25 units/sol. Machine availability increased, and reprocesses were reduced by 20%, demonstrating the model's effectiveness. This research provides a novel application of Lean Management, integrating data management and analytics to enhance productivity in textile SMEs. It offers valuable insights into 5S, TPM, and process standardization, contributing to both academic literature and industry practices.
