  • UNIVERSIDAD PERUANA DE CIENCIAS APLICADAS S.A.C

Research output: Patent

Abstract

The present invention relates to a spirometer for measuring the instantaneous velocity of exhaled air, which comprises: a metal sphere feeder (1), an exhaled air nozzle (2), a prismatic chamber (3) through which the spheres travel, a magnetic device (4) for registering and receiving the spheres, and an adjustable support structure (5) for the spirometer; wherein each metal sphere, when struck by the air coming from the exhaled air nozzle (2), moves along a parabolic trajectory, as a consequence of the gravitational field and a magnetic field, until it falls onto the magnetic sphere-registering and -receiving device (4) at the horizontal distance it reaches, providing the measurement of the velocity of the exhaled air.
