Abstract

The article “Stability analysis of slopes and current evaluation of the walls of the Tipon Archaeological Park” presents an analysis of the state of preservation of the walls in one of the most significant archaeological sites in Peru. Through a study that includes photographic documentation, various forms of deterioration affecting these historic structures are identified. Among the main pathologies observed are the vegetation between the walls, the growth of trunks, the weathering of the rock by rain and the proliferation of fungi under the poorly maintained drainage in the area. These factors not only alter the appearance of the walls, but also compromise their stability and durability. In addition, a Slide 5.0 modeling was used to model and verify the stability of the slopes of Terraces 4, 5, 6 and 7 of this Archaeological Park, in order to verify if the mentioned problems would be directly affecting the stability of these historic walls. The implementation of these measures is essential to maintain the historical and cultural value of the Tipon Archaeological Park, allowing its continued enjoyment and study.
