Abstract

In this paper, an e-health monitoring model is proposed to the wellbeing of high-risk cardiac patients. The proposed model allows the detection of anomalies in cardiac behavior by analyzing the information obtained from a wearable. The model is composed of 4 phases that go from the data collection with a wearable and smart phone application to the visualization and analysis of the data to aid medical decision making. A pilot study was conducted with 5 patients who met 3 of the 7 risk factors for a heart attack and one presented supraventricular arrhythmia during the study. Practical and technical implications are discussed.
