Abstract
The present research aims to propose the use of solar energy in the design of an interpretive trail to increase the ecotourism of the Antankallo waterfall in the district of Matucana; due to the inefficient management of officials, the 7% decrease in the flow of tourists in the year 2018 -2019 and poor accessibility (lack of information panels, railings, signage, garbage cans, etc.). Given this, a case study approach was proposed; where the characteristics of the place, and climatic factors, among other components of the area, were identified, which was fundamental to be taken into account in the implementation of the design of the proposal. Bioclimatic strategies (solar path, polar diagram, etc.), biodegradable materials, and clean technologies (photovoltaic panels and rainwater collectors) were also applied. As a result, the design of the interpretive trail has a local type rural trail (SL®) location with a linear or open and mixed interpretation trail of 2.26 km distance; meeting environmental requirements. Finally, a survey was conducted to determine the perceptions and needs of the users and the following results were obtained 97.7% of the 264 respondents would like to visit an interpretive trail that contains interpretive media such as signage 30.8%, information panels 24.6%, and brochures 21.3%.
