Resumen

The present article proposes a CAD / CAM system oriented to the rapid prototyping of pieces of different types of materials using Computer Numerical Control. The aim of the present system is to reduce the development time of prototypes through the integration of the processes of additive and subtractive manufacturing of materials. It is conformed by a PC software that converts the different CAD files to a G code for the interpretation of control and the achievement of the manufacturing process. To validate the system, the wished dimensions were compared with the dimensions of the manufactured prototype. Based on this, an average error of 0.826% in additive manufacturing, 4.179% in subtractive manufacturing with Spindle and 0.626% in laser manufacturing..
