Resumen

This work presents the quantitative and qualitative results of a project aimed at designing, building, and implementing a portable medical device for secretion aspiration. The device is versatile, lightweight, and controlled via a mobile application, enabling patients to perform the aspiration process autonomously without visiting a healthcare facility or relying on bulky equipment. The device was validated through tests involving patients of different age groups and healthcare professionals. It underwent rigorous evaluations, including resistance, material, flow, component, mechanical, and electrical tests, and complied with international standards such as IEC 60204, IEC 61439, and IEC 61000. These results demonstrate the device’s potential to improve the quality of care for patients requiring secretion management. The project was funded by competitive grants from Innovate Peru under the Ministry of Production.
