Resumen
Currently, there is a significant number of conflict points at intersections with bike lanes involving various users, whether motorized vehicles, cyclists, or pedestrians. Additionally, with the exponential growth of the population and poor traffic culture, this insecurity intensifies and increases delay times. Hence, the need arises to find an analytical method capable of quantifying road safety, particularly for cyclists, and addressing a greater number of variables integrally. Such is the case at the intersection of Salaverry and Cuba avenues in the city of Lima, where Salaverry Avenue has a bike lane in the central berm of its roadway section. With this objective in mind, two scenarios were analyzed: Scenario A without the expansion of the bike lane on Cuba Avenue, and Scenario B with the expansion of the bike lane on said avenue. The focus was on evaluating the incidence of conflict points and delay times by sectors in both scenarios. Subsequently, in Scenario B, where fewer conflict points were identified, various traffic flows were analyzed, and the relationship between delay times was found.
