N2 - This research was carried out in a metalwork company in Lima. It was identified that the main problem is the delay in order delivery, because 46.67% of these presented delays. The company expects to reduce this percentage by 15%. The analysis showed that there are excessive times in the setup of the machinery; in addition to the existence of objects scattered in the work area, it was found that the milling machine setup time is 46.6 minutes per batch, the travel time is 22.77 minutes per batch and that there are 8.9% of defective products of the total produced. A model of application of the Lean Manufacturing methodology was used to solve the problem, using the VSM, SMED and 5S tools, which were used to evaluate the current situation, formulate improvement proposals and then carry out their execution. Finally, Arena software was used to verify and validate the current situation as well as the improvement situation, in order to appreciate the effectiveness of the proposed methodology. It was obtained that the number of batches with delays was reduced by 50%, the setup time was reduced by 58.3% and the travel by 47%. In addition, the percentage of defective products was reduced to 4.91%.
