N2 - This article shows the implementation of a maintenance management system based on RCM reliability in a wood floor factory in the area of Advanced Transformation (final finishing). The RCM methodology allowed the analysis of the primary and secondary functions, the identification of the failure modes, the effects of the failure and the hierarchy of risks of the most critical equipment of the production system. With the implementation of the RCM, improvements were developed in the maintenance processes that include resumes, technical data sheets, novelty reports, maintenance service requests, work orders and maintenance reports, as well as, instructions for maintenance activities were developed of machines and production equipment. The results of the implementation of the RCM were verified by means of a simulation with the Arena software, obtaining the reduction of the mean times to repair (MTTR) in 16% and the increase of attentions in the maintenance tasks in 9.7%, increasing the availability of the plant equipment.
